Illustration shows the initial method of measurement of coccygeal angle change between neutral and seated plain radiographs used superimposition of the radiographs and alignment of the sacral shadows. A line is drawn from the center of the sacrococcygeal joint (or first mobile intercoccygeal joint if the sacrococcygeal joint is fused) to the tip of the coccyx on both radiographs, and the angle between the two superimposed lines is measured.
